If you love horses but have also felt confused or heartsore at a stable, you’re not alone. Here we don’t learn “how to make a horse more obedient”; we learn to read a horse’s body language and feelings, and the care they need at each stage of life. At Suiye Farm we care for retired horses: older, needing calm and stability, not suited to stimulation, photo-ops, or over-handling. We walk the last stretch of life with them. No experience needed, only a heart willing to treat them gently.

Volunteer levels
Ways you can take part
The relationship between people and horses matters to us. Volunteering is organised into four stages, by experience and training:
Entry level
Cleaning, sorting hay, photography, helping at events
Intermediate
Grooming, leading, assisting with feeding
Advanced
Walking the senior horses, assisting with rehab, guiding visits
Professional
Veterinary, farriery, photography, design, copywriting, legal, accounting
A retired horse is not automatically a safe horse. Every volunteer must sign a safety agreement.
